Wordle: Ashley No Kill Animal Shelters

I believe my most important words in this wordle are no kill, animal rights, euthanize, community, and neglect. These animals in the animal shelter are being neglected, from my point of view. They should not be killed or euthanized because the animal shelter is claiming to have no space. We have to come together as a community and work things out because too many innocent, healthy animals are being killed for something they could not help. I believe animals have rights, and they should be able to live a long happy life, just like a child without a home or family.

The graph, “Animal Shelter Statistics,” amazes me. I thought we would have much more than 5,000 animal shelters nationwide. It states that only 25% of animals are adopted from animal shelters, 6% are bought at pet stores, and 65% of people obtain their pets at free or low cost. This seems about right, but honestly, I thought more people bought pets from pet stores. 60% of dogs and 70% of cats are euthanized, which is a lot. I think these numbers should be changed, because only 15% of dogs and 2% of cats are returned to their owner. This is crazy, considering most of those lost animals are probably put down at the animal shelters. Also, the graph states around $2 million dollars is spent to round up, house, kill, and dispose of homeless animals. I believe the animal needs a chance and should not be put under a time limit starting from the time they arrive there, so their owners could possibly find them or get them back. How do you feel about these statistics? How would you feel if you lost your animal and found out it might have been killed at the animal shelter because of a lack of time?
